Meme caption generator
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP, or pick a template. Add top and bottom captions, drag extra text boxes, then download PNG or JPG. Captions stay on your device — nothing is sent to our servers.
How to use this tool
- 1
Pick a picture
Use Upload for a JPG, PNG, or WebP from your device, or tap a thumbnail under Suggested images. That only swaps the background. Your caption boxes stay where they are.
- 2
Write the lines
Select Top or Bottom, then type in Caption. Extra lines go in Add box. Double-tap a tab to rename it.
- 3
Place the text
Drag a box on the preview to move it. Pull the corner to change width. Size and outline live in the sliders, not on the canvas.
- 4
Style it
Choose Impact, Nunito, or Arial, pick fill and outline colours, and set alignment. Turn All caps off if mixed case reads better.
- 5
Save the file
Press Download on the top bar and pick PNG for sharp letters or JPG for a smaller photo. Both save on this device.
What each button does
- Upload — changes the photo only. Captions stay.
- Template — opens cards that already have text on the picture. Picking one loads both.
- Download — opens PNG or JPG. PNG keeps text sharp; JPG is a smaller photo.
- Suggested images — local starter shots (chai, cricket, load shedding, and more). Background only.
Quick questions
Does my photo upload to a server?
No. The meme is drawn in your browser. The image stays on your device unless you download it.
How do I change the font and colour?
Select a box, then use Font, Fill, and Outline. Size and outline width are the sliders under those pickers.
What files can I download?
PNG for a sharp file, JPG for a smaller photo. Both are made on your device.
